LASER-TEC Hosted Industry Continuing Education Workshop on Fiber Optics Fundamentals

LASER-TEC hosted a 7-hour industry workshop on Fiber Optics Fundamentals on September 12, 2014 at Indian River State College, FL.  The workshop was led by the subject matter experts from fiber optics industry leading companies such as Anixter, Corning Optical Communications, Fluke Networks, and PSA.

A total of 16 attendees from local fiber optics companies, utilities, colleges, and other academic institutions explored fundamental theory of fiber optics and modern applications of the technology.

The afternoon session included interactive hands-on activities in the following topics:  connector installation techniques using UniCam® termination units, demonstration of fusion splicing, and troubleshooting techniques using both a light source and an optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR).

LASER-TEC expresses its appreciation to the workshop sponsors:  Anixter, Corning Optical Communications, Fluke Networks, and PSA.
