CCCC Laser Club will host ‘Interviewing Essentials — STEM Focus' - March 21, 2017

LILLINGTON — The Central Carolina Community College Laser Club will host an event titled “Interviewing Essentials — STEM Focus” at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, at the CCCC Harnett Health Sciences Center Multipurpose Room, 51 Red Mulberry Way, Lillington.

The six-member panel will discuss successful interviewing skills including preparation, interview question and answering, and post-interview etiquette.

The six-member panel is comprised of four second-year students of the Laser and Photonics Technologies program located at the CCCC Harnett Main Campus and two industry partners from the Laser program’s Advisory Committee. Over the past several months, the four upcoming graduates have interviewed with companies in Research Triangle Park, California, Illinois, New Jersey, and Ohio — and they will share their experiences on how to successfully navigate the interview process. The Advisory Committee members will share their experiences from the perspective of a hiring manager, covering topics such as research required prior to the interview, how to make a good first impression, what questions a candidate should be prepared to answer, and what to expect and do after the interview is over.

Following the panel discussion, there will be a pizza social at which time guests — including prospective Laser students — can ask questions of the panelists.

To learn more about this event or Central Carolina Community College’s Laser & Photonics Technology program, contact Lead Instructor Gary Beasley at 910-814-8828 or by email at gbeasley@cccc.edu.
